Description
From the inside front cover:

This book is an instruction manual for the intermediate and advanced guitarist in the fingerpicking style. It is based on Dale Miller's Kicking Mule Albums, especially KM 123 Fingerpicking Delights, and for maximum benefit should be used with that album as a guide to learning to play the pieces, and to understanding the concepts behind the arrangements.

There are three sections: First, a 19 page discussion of the playing techniques and arranging resources which Dale found useful in working up this material on the albums is presented with many musical examples in tablature. You should go over this section with a guitar nearby so that you can play the examples. Topics include: Choice of Key, Monotonic Bass, Alternating Bass, Walking Bass, Pattern Bass, Treble Patterns, Banjo Patterns, Middle Voices, and Jazz Chording; discussed from the point of view of a finger-style player.

The second section gives playing notes for all 21 pieces on the album, with tab transcriptions for 13 of them. Included in the notes are explanations of particular techniques which may be difficult, including tremolo, vibrato, and some fancy string bends.

The third section contains 22 tunes Dale has done on two anthologies, and his second Kicking Mule album. Four of these tunes are completely tabbed out, and the other 18 have playing tips, notes on the arrangements, and the discussion is illustrated with 18 tab and 4 musical samples.
